Technology Transfer Frameworks

Technology transfer in the defense sector is subject to stringent regulatory requirements in most exporting countries. Applicable Regulatory Considerations

Technology transfer and licensed production arrangements involving ITAR-controlled defense articles require a Technical Assistance Agreement (TAA) or Manufacturing License Agreement (MLA) approved by the U.S. Department of State DDTC. Arrangements involving non-ITAR items may nonetheless require export control authorization from the relevant national authorities.
